Happy March 1st........

Wow I can't believe that we are in the month of March 2010!!!! Where does the time go???? We have one month left until the Livestock Show in Centerville. So we are showing Rabbits & a Pig again this year. Caleb was very successful for his first year in 4-H & we hope for a repeat this year!!! We are planning on Caleb learning harder responsibilities and of course make some money for a future truck or college money!! This is all too familiar territory for me & I hope to take what I learned in High school & build on that.
Oh how I am ready to see Spring!!!

Hello 2010................

Well this has been a fast and furious past year. I can't even try to begin to tell all about 2009. So I will focus on this new year ahead of us!!! 2010, that is so cool, thinking back whenever I was little about the 2000's sounded so far off and so futuristic!!!! It is so hard to believe that we are actually here...2010!!! I have several New Years' Resolutions in mind, like most of us do I'm sure, but I will keep mine to myself & work on them through out the year. We have a whole one, you know...LOL!!! I didn't make any too far off!!!

Well, I don't know about everyone but our Holiday here was so fast & furious this year!!! We hosted Thanksgiving this year here @ our house for the first time. That gave me some push to get all those last minute remodels done & everything cleaned & pretty for everyone. Eddie was so tired of all the lists I had for him LOL. But we got everything done!!!!!

This was our second year without Elton here for the holidays, he passed away in June of '08. This year we brought some new traditions to the table by 1. Having it here @ our house. 2. New dishes like Potato casserole, Broc Cheese rice casserole, Ham, & some new desserts. There was plenty of room for all the kiddos to run around and play. We built a fire in the fire pit & watched everyone have a blast.

Christmas was so nice this year..........Eddie & I looked at one another, as we were asking one another what we each wanted for Christmas, and I spoke up first and said well really nothing, I am so happy just with life and everything that we are so blessed with already, I couldn't think of ANYTHING!!! Of course he took the kiddos to buy me a little something and he got me a few things, which I knew he would. Overall, we had one very nice, happy, blessed, beautiful Christmas!!!!

Now we enter the new month of January and this is supposedly the slowest part of the year for Hair stylists. But I know that God will bless me anyway, but it is weird being splotchy on the books......that is what I call having space between clients....LOL!!!! But it gives me time to do some catch up to do's at the shop between clients...LOL So happy new year to everyone & there families!!! =)

Fall is in the air.......

Well at times these days, the weather seems to be leaning towards the cooler side!!! Thank God for that!! This has been a very HOT summer and the break in the weather is just what we needed to stay in the game!!The scorching heat seems to take all the energy right out of you!! Of course the grass doesn't grow very good either, so the rain here lately has been a God send. This will take Eddie's business right on onto the Fall.

School has been trucking right along as well. Caleb is loving the 4th grade and Caylee, although not liking Kindergarten at first, in loving it now!!! She has finally got in a routine and just loves Mrs. Smith.

As far as me, my business is going great. I am very busy on Tues., Thur., Fri. 8:30 - 5:30 or 6pm. Also for those of you who may have forgotten, I have officially been open for 1 year now!!! WOOO HOooo!!! =) I can't believe that my dream of owning my own business finally came true, after 13 years of being a stylist & RENTING!!!!! It feels really good to be paying money towards my own building!!! Thank you God!!! Oh and my wonderful Daddy!! He did all the work for me!!! I can't be happier!!

As far as my house goes, I'm sure that everyone follows my FB and knows that we are remodeling the restroom in our bedroom. It is almost done, oh how I can't wait!!! DUST<> let me say DUST!!!! It does look soooo much better already!! I'll have to post pics as soon as it is done!!

Eddie's business has been very good , except for the rain makes it where he can't work but keeps it going into the Fall!!! So we can't have one with out the other!!!

I guess that raps it up for now.......keep on lovin' my busy life, my Family and most of all my LORD!! =)

Hello blogger friends!!!

I know that we don't look @ Blogs anymore, but I figured that it was time to update my Blog a little!!! New pic from the Summer @ the Park, all the cousins are together and cheesin for the pic!!! Well, Summer is coming closer to an end and this means time for school to start and getting back to a new schedule. Earlier days and earlier bed times!!! Hopefully next Mon we can get our last minute school shopping done. The backpacks are all monogrammed up and the new shoes are ready, so I think we are ready for the days to begin!!

Of course this is the year Caylee starts the big K. and Caleb will be in 4th grade!!! So I will have an automatic raise......YEAH!!! This is so crazy being that I have paid daycare for the past 5 years!!!! See all you SAHM's have something to shout about, NO Daycare costs!!!! Any way I am a working Mom so that has been a must for me!!! But thank God I haven't had to work FULL, Full time!!! I can take off most of the time and be there for all the kiddos stuff!!! But hopefully I want cry too hard on that first day.....I'll get Eddie to come with me and carry me out!!! LOL

Summer time!!!

Well I have been looking forward to this time of the year as I'm sure everybody else has too!! Kids are out of school and we are home at a more relaxed set pace. This week started off with VBS @ Bethel Baptist and swim lessons @ 2-3. I think this is soooo good for the kids to be able to visit all the churches and see all their friends. Plus swim lessons is all I hear about!! This year Caleb is well able to be swimming on his own but loves to go anyway!!! Makes me think we need to invest in a pool??

Well this is a good time to take family vacations as well, of course!!! We are taking the kids camping @ Richland Chambers. They have cabins for rent, fishing, swimming etc!!! They are really excited! We would like to take them one other place but haven't decided yet. We are trying to take some small trips, here and there b/c of gas prices & lake of time!! What ever we decide the kids will love!! Anyway. Happy Summer everyone!!

O.C.D. ????????????

Well sometimes think I am a little OCD.......LOL!!! Today we woke up & decided to do some spring cleaning outside the house in the yard. Let me see I am gonna make a list and see just how stuff we got done........LOL!!!!

-planted grass around the Beauty shop
-put my sign on a sturdy sign frame
-planted this plant that Mom gave us, in two places
-cleaned out the side flower bed
-raked leaves & sticks
-burned them
-pushed the cable cord in the attic to make it look neater on the outside of the house
-unscrewed a screw that the cable guy left on the outside of our house that looked tacky
-leaved out the ground in the back yard in several places
-cleaned out a scrapbook bag that got something spilled in it and threw away what was messed up and kept what was good
- cleaned off the back porch
-cleaned the outside fan
-put away all the toys & threw away what wasn't good
-refilled the humming bird feeder
-picked up the trash
-swept down the house & removed cobweds


Okay I think that is it................lol!!!!!! I do feel better to write everything down & just look at it..............LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like we had a productive day!

Hello Spring!!!!

Well hello everybody it has been a great while since I have logged on here on my blog and posted anything at all about my life. Let me see where should I start, my internet got messed up about a month and a half ago. So that is the first thing. It took about 6 calls to Windstream and a visit or two from them coming here to get the lines straightened out. They finally got it all worked out and now I can log into my Blog, Myspace,e-mail,and surf the web as I need to!!!! YAY!!! That was the most drag on, drag on stuff to ever try to straighten out with being busy with the kids, show animals, etc!!

Well and of course there is the county show starting today. We have meet & greet tonight from 7-9. Then Wed 7am check in the pig. Rabbits are that night. Then Thur show the pig again. Busy Busy Busy!!!

As far as my beauty shop is concerned .....I Have landscaping now...YAY!! It is beautiful!!! My wonderful hubby did a great job!!! It is amazing how that really finished things off!!

We also have redone Caleb's bedroom. He got new pant on the walls and ceiling, new fan, new bed, plantation blinds, new curtain rods & panels,and a new rug!!! YAY he is sooooo proud. He had the same room for about 4 years. He needed a spruce up!!

We have a new tankless hot water heater too it is in our laundry room. That freed up about 3 x 3 foot space extra for my scrapbook area in the laundry room!!! YAY I have been working on the scrapbook area too.I can't wait to get that done to post new pics!!! (There is a $300 Tax credit on new hot water heaters for 2009, this is a good year to do that if you need a new one, just alittle note there!!)

Let me see here what else......Oh I can't forget most of all how great not good but great God is.....During this economic time God still provides.....I haven't had very many slow times at all. I have been able to stay the same or better with my clientle here at my new shop. God is soooo good, I know that there are soo many that are loosing jobs left & right and I just thank God for providing for me!!

Okay I think that is all for now LOL!! That is all in the Life of Sherrie for the past 2 months LOL!! HAPPY SPRING!!!!

2009.................

Well the new year is finally here. I have some new resolutions that i am going to stick to this year and accomplish. One of those is losing weight. I started early on that about a month ago i joined Faith Fitness. I really like it and plan on continuing it. I have started, for a week now and have been on a liquid diet. I have been drinking for breakfast and lunch then eating sensible for supper. No sodas just plenty of water. I really think that changing my eating habits all together will make a big difference. I already feel better!! I have lost about 8lbs already!! This is even more in sight now that all that good holiday cooking is over with!! HAppy New Year!!

2009 almost here......

Well, everything in 2008 is fixin to be in the past!! We are about to go into yet another year!! With Christmas over there is alot of cleaning up to do and doing that Winter cleaning!!!! Tomorrow it is back to work after a very long weekend!!! WOW, I don't get that very often!!! Well Eddie go me a Canon Rebel XSI for Christmas and I don't have one clue how to work it!! But i can't wait to use it!! Well my goal for 2009 is to get my scrapbook room in order, so I can start back to my hobby!! Plus afew others that I have in mind!! Well HAPPY end of DECEMBER!!

Christmas is almost here....

Well I am so excited about my first open house here at my new Salon. This is open to everyone past, present, or current client. I wanted to send out a Thank you and a invitation for me to thank you personally, for your business in 2008!!! I can't believe that it has 3 1/2 months that I have been open now. I hope that you can make it by to see the new place and gra a little treat!!!

Christmas is almost here....

Well I took another trip to Killeen to celebrate Izzy's 7th birthday party. We went skating there in Killeen and the kids had a blast!!! Caleb caught on real fast!!! I had the opportunity to do some more Christmas shopping too!! I love having lots of choices!! The bigger cities can really spoil you ! I still need to make one more trip to finish up and I will be complete and ready for Santa :-)
I have Mon. off to bake and I am working Tues & Wed then I will be off for 4 days.....wow. What can I do to enjoy my time off well maybe RELAX!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Chilly!!!!!!

Wow, I think this winter is colder than we have ever had. I definitely don't have enough clothes on here lately! That North wind cuts through like a knife!

Well, I have to thank God again for the business that I have started, I have been busy-busy-busy. The devil can play tricks in our minds and tell us to look at the economy and that can scare anyone, right? Well, we all know that we need to keep our eyes on the Lord, he is the author and finisher of our faith and he's our provider!! I love what I do, and if I can encourage someone God leads to me, by lending an ear, or making them feel good about themselves, then I feel good. It's not about me but the little things in life can mean a lot to some people. This is a kinda ministry, in its own uniqueness.

The holidays are right around the corner and my work days are already getting full. I may have to work some Wednesdays. I am willing to work more to make my clients look their best for their family and the holidays. Merry December ;)

Black Friday....Totally Success!!!!!

Well, I took a little trip to Killeen to visit my sister this past Thursday, after Thanksgiving with Bonnie Jean. This was the first holiday with out him being there. Eddie lead the prayer and gave thanks for the fact that Elton was in heaven with all the other family members. He added that he was thankful for all the Thanksgiving dinners that he was there to prepare for us. If anyone has ever heard me talk about Elton's Dressing you know he was an excellent cook. He prepared it all!! He was awesome!! Well, Bonnie Jean took up the cooking this year and let me tell you she did an excellent job!!! We all were teary eyed after that wonderful prayer that Eddie brought though!!

Anyway I arrived at Lisa's at about 7:30 And she had cooked Thanksgiving dinner for her family and friends. It was great as well!! We got up @ 4:15am !!!! We arrived at Wal-mart and didn't get anything we wanted!!! So we ventured off to Toys R Us we hit the jack pot I got all the nieces and nephews all their presents!! So a big part of my shopping venture was good!

Okay i actually got Caleb his main gift from Santa! Caylee we are still deciding on that. I still got alot done and feel ahead of the game!!Happy December!!!

San Antonio .............

We are headed for a weekend on the river walk to help celebrate one of Eddie's friends wedding. It is going to be at the Westin on the river walk. We are leaving Friday, the wedding is Saturday evening, and we will return Sunday evening. I am in charge of getting all the ladies in the wedding party beautiful for the wedding. I think there is gonna be six total. I am nervous as always on updos because it is so out of my norm. The hair has to be prepared just right, usually straightened then rolled the re curled. It sounds so unnecessary but it is. When it is all said and done they look great, it's just up until the final, okay here you go, it looks crazy, almost like were are you going with this??? Very rewarding though. I love what I do!!! Being creative is so fun. I can't wait to start scrapbooking again!! My room is a wreck and it is gonna get a makeover real soon!!!! I will take pictures along the way so everyone can see.

Okay I am better today!! Had a busy day and I am thankful for that!! I think we need to remember to be thankful in the little things. Having customers to fill my day is such a blessing!!! Not that it hasn't been busy but I sure haven't been thanking God for it. I've been too busy to stop and say thank you to my Lord. Well, he is good!!!

Well, in the kid side of my world, Caleb got his pig yesterday, her name is Blueberry. She is white with a blue butt go figure LOL. I wanted to name her Bluebonnet, but Caleb wanted the other. He is mister independent!! He loves her though!I have to say she is pretty. Scroll on down and there are pics of her.

As far as Ms. Caylee goes, she is something else altogether!! She had her Fall pics at preschool today, sure hope they turn out good. She is growing soooo fast that I forget to take pics sometimes.So I am reminding myself to get the camera out dust it off and take some pics!!!

Well, I never talk about my love Eddie on my page so I guess here's a first. He had his CD release party for Smokin' Gun first CD a few weeks ago. They sold a ton of products!!! I got a T-Shirt with all the guys signatures on it!! The product is so professional and well produced!! If anyone is interested come but the shop they are for sale $15.

Well over and out for now don't forget to pray for our country and the leader, maybe not my choice, but God can handle him, the economy, and any thing else in this world!!!

Blah!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed that you don't feel anything but BLAH???? Well it just hit me today. I have been going through all my paper work for 2008 to get everything ready for the end of the year taxes. I know that it is early to even be thinking of this but, I have no where to put a thing. I have all new kinds of paper work for the beauty shop that need to be separated and we are still in this year. TOOOOO confusing I know?!^&*!? I don't even understand it all. Starting 2009 in January I will be organized and I will have room for everything and I will understand what I'm doing, I hope!!!! Well, with the holidays coming quickly, I start to feel overwhelmed. I look at the kid's rooms and they don't need one single thing they are sooo blessed. So I think we should donate the toys that are in good shape to make room for the new ones. Anyway I am rambling on like a crazy person but I'm not crazy just very vocal today! I really needed to but all my anxieties on my blog to express myself!! I do feel better now!! On a good note HAPPY NOVEMBER!!!

Well, Caleb just got his first show pig for County Show. She is 4 weeks old and she is pretty!! Willie found her from a breeder in Palestine and Kort has the sister to her. Here is a pic of her and Caleb.......
